Depth Cell

The Sinister Penguin utilizes a Keller America AccuLevel Depth Cell. The vehicle has been using this piece of hardware for the competition since 2007. The Depth Cell has been one of the most reliable sensors that we have. It has proven itself to be precise and accurate over the last four years.

The depth cell has 16-bit internal digital error correction. It uses a 316L SS flush-diaphragm sensor to measure pressure. The output is set to send a constant voltage (0-12V) scaled to the depth where the sensor is currently. It communicates using dual (analog & RS485) outputs.

Currently the team has no plans to update or replace this sensor.
