Major Dan Rozek, USMC

Executive Assistant to the Academic Dean and Provost

Major Rozek was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in finance. He attended Officer Candidates School in December 2001 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in April 2001.

Major Rozek graduated from The Basic School and later attended Adjutant's Course at Camp Johnson, North Carolina. Upon completion of the course, he served with 2d Combat Engineer Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, from 2002 to 2005. During this tour, Major Rozek deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

His next tour of duty was at Officer Candidates School in Quantico Virginia from 2005 to 2008. During this assignment, he served as a Platoon Commander for five Officer Candidate Classes, Executive Officer for one Officer Candidate Class, and Company Commander for 14 months.

Major Rozek's next assignment was with 2d Marine Regiment, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina from 2008-2011 where he served as the Regimental Adjutant. A yearlong deployment to Helmand Province, Afghanistan followed.

Upon return to the United States, Major Rozek assumed his current duties as the Executive Assistant to the Academic Dean and Provost, at the United States Naval Academy, in July 2011.

Major Rozek's personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with one gold star.

Married to the former Melissa Mueller, Major Rozek has two daughters, Kennedy, age 11, and Kendall, age 8.
