Educators: The Centers of Influence

Each year, the United States Naval Academy hosts educators, community leaders, counselors, and others in positions of responsibility who interact with our nation's best and brightest middle and high school students for a 3-night, 4-day visit to Annapolis. These visits are offered at no cost to the educator and are designed to showcase the opportunities available at USNA to your students.

USNA seeks to engage leaders who influence highly-qualified students from across the nation. COI attendees gain first-hand experience about:

  • The admissions process
  • The exceptional undergraduate education opportunities offered at the U.S. Naval Academy
  • The career options available as an officer in the Navy or Marine Corps

The goal is that COI participants return to their communities with a deeper understanding of USNA and help identify, mentor and encourage local students who demonstrate the interest and potential to become a midshipmen (student) at the U.S. Naval Academy.

For multi-day COI visits in Annapolis, all expenses (airfare, lodging and meals) are paid by USNA. Applications for the 2015 conferences will be open soon.

*Please note, single-day COIs are mini sessions that are held on location. The sessions are free and food will be provided, but transportation is the responsibility of the attendee. Off-site COIs have their own sign-ups, which can be accessed by clicking on the link in the "COI Dates" section.
