Deans AFloat Conference
The annual Deans Conference rotates among the five military academies. The conference allows the attendees to learn more about the other academies and discuss best practices.
With the Association for Institutional Research (AIR) Dean's Afloat is co-hosting a half-day IPEDS pre-conference workshop. Financial support for this workshop is provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
IPEDS Data as the Public Face of an Institution - This module raises the level of awareness among higher education professionals about the importance of accuracy and consistency in data reported to IPEDS. Examples of real IPEDS data used in the public domain will be incorporated, enabling participants to understand how IPEDS data are used by governmental and non-governmental entities. This module includes presentations, discussions, exercises and demonstrations utilizing IPEDS data tools and resources.
The 2012 conference is hosted by the United States Naval Academy and is called, “Deans AFloat”. This year, we encourage collaboration amongst the academies in the development of the conference theme and discussion topics. Please visit the Collaboration area to provide your inputs.
A full schedule of events for the conference is available in the Agenda area.
Throughout the collaboration process, please share pertinent documents for upload to the Conference Files area.
If you are interested in more information about past conferences please visit the Conference History page.
We would like your feedback on all aspects of the conference from collaboration through execution. A full After Action report will be available in Conference Files at the conclusion of the Deans AFloat Conference.
