NAVAL ARCHITECTURE AND OCEAN ENGINEERING
Upon graduation, those who have earned a degree in either naval architecture
or ocean engineering will be:
- Well educated in the principles of engineering and able to exercise their
technical background by application
- Adept at solving open-ended engineering design problems
- Capable of working effectively as part of an engineering design team
- Able to effectively present, both orally and in writing, a technical
problem and its solution to an appropriate approving authority
- Able to understand, conduct, judiciously interpret, and appreciate
engineering experimentation
- Competent to use, as a tool and in a variety of ways, computer technology
- Possessed of an appreciation for the impact that the practice of
engineering has on society and the environment, and
- Willing and able to engage in life-long learning.
