Step #1: Identify goals

What is to be achieved?

 Step #2: Identify specific objective(s) for each broad goal

Under what circumstances will you know the goal has been achieved?

Step #3: Develop performance criterion(a) for each objective

What will students be able to do, or be, or possess when the goal is accomplished?

Step #4: Determine practices to be used to achieve goals

What will be done to achieve the goals and objectives?

Step #5: Select assessment methods for each objective.

Choose data collection methods

 Step #6: Conduct assessment

#6A: Use specified methods to collect evidence

#6B: Analyze evidence and compare against performance criteria using analysis appropriate to the method chosen.

 Step #7: Determine feedback channels which provide information in a timely fashion to facilitate continuous improvement of practices, provide information for decision making, and provide basis for evaluation. 

Step #8: Evaluate whether or not the performance criteria were met and the objectives were achieved.
