Funerals, memorial services, class reunion memorial services in the Naval Academy Chapel, and committals in the Naval Academy Columbarium, are arranged through the Naval Academy Memorial Affairs Coordinator.

Eligibility for burial or internment in the Naval Academy Cemetery/Columbarium; or for funeral/memorial services in the Chapel is limited to Midshipmen, Naval Academy alumni and their spouses, full-time faculty members, and military personnel assigned to the Naval Academy at the time of death.

Navy Birthday Celebration

  • Navy Birthday Worship Service and Fellowship Luncheon - October 6: A worship service commemorating the 238th birthday of the U.S. Navy will be held Sunday, October 6th at 1300 in the Naval Academy Chapel. The theme of this year's service will be: Defending America with Pride Since 1775. Chief of Chaplains Rear Adm. Mark L. Tidd, will preach. Guest speakers include the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Jonathan Greenert and Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Michael Stevens. For those attending the Birthday Service, a fellowship luncheon in Dahlgren will precede the Service beginning at 1215.
