Chaplain's Center Home

The historic Chapel at the center of the Yard – and its landmark dome – are symbolic of the vital role that moral and spiritual guidance plays in the development of Midshipmen into naval officers.

The daily work of delivering religious ministry at the Academy is accomplished by a dedicated team of experienced active-duty Navy chaplains, Religious Program Specialists, civilian employees, and volunteers lead by Senior Chaplain CAPT Michael Gore.

While our ministry is focused on the Brigade of Midshipmen, we welcome guests and visitors to our services open to the public.

The Naval Academy Chapel – is open for visitors most weekdays, except when the Chapel is being used for weddings, funerals and memorial services, and other special events.

New Vehicle Access Process

Due to heightened security measures within the DOD/DON, the procedure for obtaining/renewing vehicle passes for access to the United States Naval Academy has changed. For those Chapel congregants who attend worship services on a recurrent basis via personal vehicle, a new Visitor Access Form is required. The form asks for personal information that was not required on previous forms such as your social-security number and date of birth. Disclosure of this information is voluntary; however, failure to provide the information will result in denial of vehicle pass by Base Access and Security. The new forms will be available at the Chapel Information Desk each Sunday before and after services from Sunday 13OCT-Sunday 03NOV. All forms are to be returned in a sealed envelope to the volunteers at the Chapel Information Desk or mailed to the USNA Chaplain Center. Whether returned to the Information Desk or mailed to the Chaplain Center, address the envelope to the USNA Chaplain Center, Attn. Mr. Johnny Thomas, 101 Cooper Rd. Annapolis, MD 21402. Vehicle passes will be distributed to congregants as processed. Completed forms must be returned to Chaplain Center no later than 03NOV. You can also access the form electronically via the USNA Chaplain website at:
