Many commercial restaurants are available in the Annapolis area. In addition to those in the downtown Annapolis area near the Academy, many are located in Restaurant Park by Annapolis Mall just off Route 50, northwest of, and about five miles from, the Academy.
A listing of restaurants is available at the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Conference and Visitors Bureau official website located at http://www.visitannapolis.org/.
Special Visitor Needs
Special graduation seating is available for people in wheelchairs, or for those who cannot easily climb stairs or who would benefit from a sign language interpreter. USNA maps, posted on the Naval Academy website, will show which facilities on Academy grounds are modified for the handicapped – building entrances, rest rooms, and parking. Maneuvering wheelchairs throughout Academy grounds may be difficult when trying to get from one activity to another. For rental wheelchairs, please inquire at a medical supply house shown under “wheelchairs” in the yellow pages.
Medical Needs
For all emergencies the state-wide emergency number is 911. The closest emergency room is Anne Arundel Medical Center (AAMC). For emergencies call 443-481-1200/1201. General AAMC information call 443-481-1000.
Public Rest Rooms
Public rest rooms are located in Dahlgren Hall, Navy Museum, Worden Field Bandstand, and in the gate house at Gate 3. In town, rest rooms are at the harbor master building on the City Dock. Visitors wanting to change clothes between events may use Dahlgren Hall’s rest rooms.
Transportation From Airports
Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) is the closest commercial airport. Shuttle service is available from BWI to Annapolis. Some Annapolis hotels offer courtesy vans to/from BWI. In Washington D.C., taxis can be hired from Ronald Reagan National and Dulles Airports. Rental cars are available; but parking on USNA and in historic Annapolis is very challenging during graduation week. Parking will be provided at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium with shuttle bus service to the Academy.
