EC488A Mission Statement
Educate each midshipman about cyber infrastructure and systems,
inherent cyber vulnerabilities and threats, and appropriate
defensive security procedures, thereby enabling them to make
principled decisions regarding the potential benefits, consequences,
and risks from a proposed use of an information system in today's
cyber warfare environment.
-
EC488A Course Goals
The fundamental goal of EC488A is that students are able to:
- Describe typical cyber security threats and vulnerabilities and describe actions that can be taken to protect information systems, hardware, and software in both the computer and network domains.
- Describe the security principles, mechanisms, and technologies that are implemented to provide confidentiality, authentication, and integrity.
- EC488A Glossary
Just what do all these terms mean anyway?
