EE302: Electronic
Communication Systems
And Digital Communications
| Credits: | 3-2-4 |
| Description: | This course is a follow-on to EE301, Electrical Engineering Fundamentals. The course begins with a basic introduction to gain, noise, tuned circuits, filters, the frequency domain, and the decibel. The basic principles of amplitude modulation (AM) and frequency modulation (FM) are discussed. This is followed by antenna and radio wave propagation fundamentals. The course then moves into digital modulation techniques and also examines the basics of analog-to-digital conversion (A/D). This is followed by an introduction to multiplexing, microwave communications, optical communications, and satellite communications. The course ends with a study of the engineering fundamentals of networking, including topology, connectivity, routing, bandwidth, addressing, TCP/IP, data security, and the Internet as an application of networking concepts. |
