Christopher R. Anderson, Ph.D.

Dr. Anderson is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the United States Naval Academy, specializing in wireless propagation, ultra-wideband communications, software-defined radios, hardware design for MANET and Mesh networks, as well as medical applications of wireless signals.  Dr. Anderson received his B.S. in Honors, M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering all from Virginia Tech in 1999, 2002, and 2006. From 2000-2007, he was part of the Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group at Virginia Tech, where he compiled extensive experience performing propagation measurements in a variety of frequency bands between 300 MHz and 60 GHz. His Ph.D research involved developing a software defined radio suitable for ultra-wideband (UWB) communications as well as exploring unique applications of UWB technology.  While at Virginia Tech, Anderson participated in a co-op work experience with the Corning Cable Company, as well as summers internship with International Resistor Corporation (IRC) and Andrew Corporation’s Wireless Innovations Group.
