Ireland's Literary Voice

Thank you for visiting the ILV-page of the U. S. Naval Academy's English Department. This site is the outcome of the special topics course offered during the Spring semester of 1997. The pages below are the students' research papers on a wide variety of Irish related topics. The topics are about half literary/myth related and half historical figures and concepts. The course was designed around this blend of history, myth and literature as the distinction between these topics is especially difficult to discern in Ireland's case. For more information about the class please see:

A quick word about the papers. They are presented here as they were submitted for the class, so they have not gone through an elaborate editorial process. Rather, they have been peer-reviewed for accuracy and comprehensiveness. There will be a link to the peer-review at the top of each of the pages.
