Appointment Scheduling

writing-center.jpg

The Writing Center has adopted the WCOnline application for scheduling appointments. This application provides more reliable scheduling than the one we have used in the past, and permits our tutors to record your sessions and track your progress so that we can provide you better service.

The first time you use the application, you will need to register and create an account. WCOnline is an external application and is not supported by or affiliated with the US Naval Academy. Your account with them is totally separate from any of your USNA accounts.

You can make an appointment...

Online, using WCOnline (http://usna.mywconline.com/)

Hours

Monday-Friday, 0800-1530 (closed 1145-1330)

Appointment times are periods 1-6

Walk-ins are taken based on tutor availability

After Hours

The Writing Center now provides limited tutoring sessions outside regular class hours. Call or check our online schedule for available times and/or to set up an appointment. Writing Center tutorials are available online and in the library for evenings and weekends.

After-hours appointments are available at Nimitz Library and online via instant messaging software.  All appointments--both regular and after-hours--are scheduled the same way.

Please remember: All Writing Center tutorials are an academic obligation.  If you cannot keep your appointment, please cancel it as soon as possible.  Appointments begin at the start of class periods.  Tutors will only wait ten minutes for you to show up, so please do not be late.

In the Library

The Writing Center offers after-hours tutoring in the library.  On Sundays and Mondays a tutor will be available to help you in Nimitz Library, room 315. You can schedule a library appointment on the Writing Center appointment page.

Online

What if you could have a tutorial from the comfort and convenience of your own room?  Sound impossible?  Not with our all-new online tutoring now available in the evenings and on weekends!  All you need is Instant Messenger software to have a tutorial in real time. Sign up for an online appointment on the Writing Center appointment page.

Plan Ahead

Each year the Writing Center holds over 1,000 tutorial sessions, and we want to make the most of each one.  Keep in mind that we can help you best if you...

  • Bring a writing sample with you
  • Don't wait to come in until the last minute before an assignment is due
