RETIRED ACTIVITIES OFFICE
WEDNESDAYS - 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Assists all retired military and their family members in such areas as Survivor Benefits Plan, retired rights and benefits, widow’s outreach and assistance. Office is staffed by retired military volunteers.

“HEARTS APART” - DEPLOYMENT DICUSSION GROUP
TUESDAYS – 2 & 16 APRIL, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Is your loved one deployed? A Deployment Discussion Group is held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:15pm at the Fleet & Family Support Center. Child care is FREE and onsite upon advance request. Registration is required. Please call the FFSC at 410-293-2641 for more information.

DEVELOPING YOUR SPENDING PLAN
WEDNESDAY, 3, APRIL, 3:00 – 4:00PM

Do you want to get a better idea of where your money is being spent each month? What your overall net worth is? What about your debt-to-income ratio? This workshop provides information on developing successful money management skills and how to better track your personal financial information each month. Topics include understanding establishing spending plans, spending strategies and more.

GETTING THE POOP ON “TOILET TRAINING” WORKSHOP
Wednesday, 3 April – 5:30 – 6:30 pm

Potty training can be a difficult time for parents and children. It is not easy for children to learn how and when to properly use a toilet. For some children takes a few weeks, others a few months to train. Parents don’t miss this opportunity to learn skills to help your child to become fully independent in the area of potty training.

SMOOTH MOVE SEMINAR
FRIDAY, 5 APRIL, 8:30 – 11:30 am

Are you getting ready for a PCS move? This single session workshop is for everyone, experienced mover or not, who is on Permanent Change of Station (PCS) orders. It offers tips to help make your move as “painless” as possible! Topics will include the new www.move.mil / DPS registration/move process, Personally Procured Moves (formally known as Do-It-Yourself moves), house hunting, tips from your School Liaison Officer (SLO), travel and financial planning, entitlements, family preparation, and ways to cope with relocation. Receive information on your upcoming duty station and community, and much more

TRANSITION - GPS
Monday – Friday, 8 – 12 April, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

The newly revised TAP Workshop has been renamed Transition, Goals, Plans, Success (GPS) It is a five day career and job search workshop for separating service members seeking civilian employment. Topics include: Tools for Transition, Military Occupational Cross Walk, Skills Assessment, Resume Writing, Job Search Methods, Interview Techniques, as well as a review of Veteran benefits and entitlement and much more. Register now if you are within 1 year of separation or 2 years of retirement. Classes fill up months ahead. IMPORTANT!!! You must see your Command Career Counselor and obtain (1) a signed DD Form 2648 –Pre-separation Counseling Checklist and (2) a copy of your Individual Transition Plan (ITP) prior to coming to TAP. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN YOU BEING TURNED.

MEDICAL RECORD REVIEW
(Thursdays) 11, 18 & 25 April - Call For An Appointment, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

The AMVET, a Private Non-Profit, Service Organization will be reviewing medical records for retiring or separating service members to identify medical conditions to be considered for follow-on VA services. This review will assist members in obtaining all necessary documents and other additional information prior to their separation from the service. Members should bring their original medical record. MONTH OF THE MILITARY CHILD (NEX)
Friday, 12 April – 10:00 – 1:30 pm

Fleet & Family Support Center staff, Security, NFCU will be at the Navy Exchange to answer questions and give away free pamphlets and brochures on parenting. We will have give-a-ways for children. FREE Popcorn. So, come on by!

RESUME WRITING
Tuesday, 16 April, 9-11 am

Wondering how to write your resume? Have you written a resume but it isn’t getting the results you want? ur resume writing workshop will help you get started or show you how to improve the one you have written. This class will discuss targeting your resume, selecting the best format for your work experience and creating a cover letter. Participants will complete a draft resume outline. Don’t pay someone else to write your resume!

HOME TEAM” - YOUTH DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT GROUP
Tuesday – 16 April, 6:00 – 7:00 pm

For kids ages 5-18 who are experiencing a family deployment, come join the “HOME TEAM” to get involved, stay connected, have social support and to learn about the power of POSITIVE!! COMMAND INDOCTRINATION/NEWCOMERS’ ORIENTATION
Wednesday – Friday, 17 – 19 APRIL, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Wednesday – Navy Pride & Professionalism, Thursday & Friday – Command Indoc

Command Indoctrination Programs are designed to facilitate the adaptation of Sailors and their families into their new working and living environments. This will afford Sailors and their families the greatest opportunity for a successful and productive tour of duty. Call the Fleet & Family Support Center to register for our monthly “Command Indoc/Newcomer’s Orientation.” The Indoc/Orientation is for all active duty service members reporting to the U.S. Naval Academy, Naval Support Activity Annapolis, Navy Band, and Naval Health Clinic! Don't miss our three information-packed days designed to make your move to a new community a “smooth” one. A highlight of the Orientation: a tour of the Naval Academy! Spouses are encouraged to attend Thursday-Friday.

STRONG INTEREST INVENTORY

The Strong Interest Inventory can assist you by helping you explore the fit between your interests and jobs, projects and working environments. This career assessment workshop will provide insight into the pros and cons of career choices, your work style, your educational or environmental preferences, and your leadership and risk taking styles. It will enhance your career planning by bringing objectivity and reason to an often emotional process. HAND ART FOR THE FAMILY

Join us for some hilariously high standards of fun as we celebrate Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Prevention Month. Since children are our most precious natural resource, we decided to throw an art party for those young at heart (physically and mentally). Come and discover fine art at your fingertips. Turn your hand prints into pictures of all kinds of ridiculously fun things. This workshop will provide a hand kit and supplies, along with step by step instructions for all participating artist. Oh, the places we will go and the things we will see!! This course is not for the faint-hearted, you must be strong, creative and have an awesome sense of humor. FINANCIAL PLANNING FOR DEPLOYMENT
MONDAY, 22, APRIL, 3:00 – 4:00PM

Deployments can be exciting as well as stressful. The more prepared you can be financially, the less stress you will likely experience. Topics to be covered are: Important legal documents, Managing finances, Paying bills, Using credit, Taxes (if deployment extends over 15 April), Property management during deployment., Housing, Vehicles, Communicating with family and friends and Sources of help. This workshop is for Sailors, young and old and family members too.

CERTIFIED OMBUDSMAN TRAINING (COT)
Wednesday – Friday, 24 – 26 April, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

This training is for experienced ombudsmen who would like to become Certified Ombudsman Trainers (COT). These individuals are trained and certified to teach Ombudsman Basic Training. CAREER DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR COURSE
Session I: 22 – 26 April (5 days, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)
Session II: 24 - 26 June (3 days, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)

(Attendance at ALL sessions is required for certification)
Designed for people who work in the field of career advising, counseling and training, this 120 hour curriculum is a hybrid interactive and e-learning course that will cover the following Competency Areas:

10 STEPS TO A FEDERAL JOB

The process of applying for a job in the Federal Government may seem confusing as different Government Agencies have different requirements. Agencies may require the Optional Application for Federal Employment (OF-612), an SF-171, or a resume. This workshop will provide you with tips on how to best prepare your application. SMOOTH MOVE FOR KIDS SEMINAR

Is your family planning a PCS move? If so, this "how-to" seminar is a must for you and your children. The "Smooth Move for Kids" seminar focuses on surviving the impact of changing places, saying goodbye, and adjusting to new people and situations, especially for children between the ages of 6 - 15.
