Assists all retired military and their family members in such areas as Survivor Benefits Plan, retired rights and benefits, widow’s outreach and assistance. Office is staffed by retired military volunteers.

BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES
WEDNESDAY- 1, MAY, Noon-1pm

Properly maintaining your financial accounts is the first step in establishing a credit history and is expected of you as a member of the military. This program will help you understand all the products and services available to you, pick the one that best meets your needs and manage them appropriately.

DISABILITY TRANSITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (DTAP) BRIEF
Thursday, 2 May, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

If you are a military member with a service connected disability or being considered for a medical separation this workshop is for you! It will provide you with insight and a wealth of information to assist you or a family member. The Department of Veteran Affairs will provide an overview of the regulatory guidance on service connected disability. This includes Chapter 31, Title 38 Vocational Rehabilitation and employment services. In addition, we will discuss the Physical Evaluation Board Process. Join us and learn more about this medical benefit and entitlements.

MEDICAL RECORD REVIEW
Call For An Appointment, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

The AMVET, a Private Non-Profit, Service Organization will be reviewing medical records for retiring or separating service members to identify medical conditions to be considered for follow-on VA services. This review will assist members in obtaining all necessary documents and other additional information prior to their separation from the service. Members should bring their original medical record. Call to schedule an Appointment.

TRANSITION – GOALS, PLANS, SUCCESS (GPS)
Monday – Friday, 6 - 10 May, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm

The newly revised TAP Workshop has been renamed Transition, Goals, Plans, Success (GPS)
It is a five day career and job search workshop for separating service members seeking civilian employment. Topics include: Tools for Transition, Military Occupational Cross Walk, Skills Assessment, Resume Writing, Job Search Methods, Interview Techniques, as well as a review of Veteran benefits and entitlement and much more. Register now if you are within 1 year of separation or 2 years of retirement. Classes fill up months ahead. IMPORTANT!!! You must see your Command Career Counselor and obtain (1) a signed DD Form 2648 –Pre-separation Counseling Checklist and (2) a copy of your Individual Transition Plan (ITP) prior to coming to TAP. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN YOU BEING TURNED.

ANGER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP - (3 SESSIONS)

Do you find your anger racing from zero to 60 at work or at home? The Anger Management workshop is designed to help participants become more aware of anger in themselves and others; to understand how anger or the repression of anger affects us; to develop positive ways of expressing anger, techniques for dampening anger and dealing with anger in others.

“HEARTS APART” - DEPLOYMENT DICUSSION GROUP
Tuesdays, 7 & 21 MAY, 6:00 –7:00 pm

10 STEPS TO A FEDERAL JOB

The process of applying for a job in the Federal Government may seem confusing as different Government Agencies have different requirements. Agencies may require the Optional Application for Federal Employment (OF-612), an SF-171, or a resume. This workshop will provide you with tips on how to best prepare your application. WELL? Have you ever thought – I know my spouse/significant other loves me, but I don’t feel loved? This will explore different ways people show love to each other. It will talk about the different emotional needs people have. It will give you a chance to explore what your love language is and what your emotional needs are. COMMAND INDOCTRINATION/NEWCOMERS’ ORIENTATION

Command Indoctrination Programs are designed to facilitate the adaptation of Sailors and their families into their new working and living environments. This will afford Sailors and their families the greatest opportunity for a successful and productive tour of duty. Call the Fleet & Family Support Center to register for our monthly “Command Indoc/Newcomer’s Orientation.” The Indoc/Orientation is for all active duty service members reporting to the U.S. Naval Academy, Naval Support Activity Annapolis, Navy Band, and Naval Health Clinic! Don't miss our three information-packed days designed to make your move to a new community a “smooth” one. A highlight of the Orientation: a tour of the Naval Academy! Spouses are encouraged to attend Thursday-Friday.

NEW SPOUSE ORIENTATION
Thursday, 16 May, 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Whether you're a new Navy spouse or you've been around awhile, sometimes you wonder if you moved to another planet! The Navy has its own language, traditions and customs. Everything can seem so different! How are you supposed to understand life on this planet? Make your Fleet and Family Support Center one of your first stops in your new Navy adventure. You can attend a workshop and meet other new Navy spouses, and gather informational materials. FFSC provides new spouse orientation and support for spouses to prepare them for their responsibilities and acquaint them with military and community resources.

MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR (MBTI) WORKSHOP
Friday, 17 May, 9 – 11:00 am

Each of us has a unique personality type that explains how we deal with the world, gather information, and make decisions. Myers-Briggs is a powerful personality inventory that is used in many settings to describe how people approach life and interact with other’s. Knowing your type and other natural preferences empowers you to understand yourself and others in personal relationships as well as the workplace, and gives you tools for making career choices, resolving conflicts, and generally managing your life.

Learn About Your Personality Type! In order to attend this workshop, call to register and receive an internet link to take the assessment by 13 May online at home or work. Your profile and results will be discussed at the workshop on (date).

RETIREMENT PLANNING WORKSHOP (introductory)
MONDAY- 20, MAY, Noon- 1pm

Retirement may seem far in the future, but the earlier you start planning for it, the easier it will be. In fact, the best time to begin planning for retirement is when you first start earning income, because that is when you begin to have access to some of the excellent retirement programs. This is an introductory class to retirement planning, which includes: what is TSP, estimating retirement needs and building personal savings and investments.

HOME TEAM” - YOUTH DEPLOYMENT SUPPORT GROUP
TUESDAY – 21 MAY, 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

For kids ages 5-18 who are experiencing a family deployment, come join the “HOME TEAM” to get involved, stay connected, have social support and to learn about the power of POSITIVE!! This single-session workshop provides valuable information on establishing a credit history, choosing and using credit and debit cards, debt to income ratio, consumer installment loans. Credit reports, and effectively managing your credit.

More retirement planning for TSP & IRA participants. This workshop discusses: asset allocations, investment performance, risk assessment, likelihood of future values, and calculating money withdrawal rates.
