Chartered in 1985, the United States Naval Academy Gospel Choir is an upbeat gospel, inspirational musical ensemble. The common bond among midshipmen of this group is their anointed voices, musical talents, and passion to through song.
The choir travels to a myriad of high schools and professional, cultural, and religious venues across the United States.
The choir is under the direction of Dr. Joyce Garrett of Kinston, N.C. Garrett directs the choir through a diverse repertoire of gospel music ranging from traditional hymns and spirituals to contemporary rhythms.
Under her direction since 1990, the choir has received recognition throughout the country for excellence in singing.
