The United States Naval Academy Gospel Choir is an upbeat, inspirational musical ensemble. Compromised of Midshipmen from various locations, races and creeds, the Gospel Choir is truly reflective of the diverse interests and ethnicities within the Brigade of Midshipmen. The Gospel Choir offers musically talented Midshipmen the opportunity to sing music together, to form bonds of mutual encouragement and to support diversity outreach efforts of the Academy and Naval service using music, ministry and mentorship. Since its charter in 1985, the Gospel Choir has traveled to numerous high schools and professional, cultural and religious venues across the United States.
The choir is under the direction of Karla Scott of Greensboro, N.C. Scott directs the choir through a diverse repertoire of gospel music ranging from traditional hymns and spirituals to contemporary rhythms. This will be Scott’s first tour with the Naval Academy Gospel Choir.
