Getting Started - Your First Month

E-mail and IT Access

After you have checked in, Human Resources will change your IT user account from Prospective to Active.  This will allow IT and your manager to request any required IT services. 

Common Access Card (CAC)

Our Regional Human Resources Office will process your on-boarding paperwork.  Once your appointment has processed, they will generate a Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50). 

You will be contacted by Human Resources once your SF-50 has processed.  The next step is to make an appointment to obtain your Command Access Card (CAC – used on military bases as your primary form of identification).  You can make your appointment online:

Parking & Vehicle Registration

Once you have your Common Access Card (CAC) you can register your vehicle and obtain a Faculty/Staff sticker for your vehicle with Pass & ID.  After you have registered with Pass & ID, please turn in your temporary parking pass to that office.

Performance Plan

Within your first 30 days on on-boarding, you and your supervisor should develop a performance plan for the upcoming year. 

Ethics Training

As part of your onboarding process, Ethics Orientation Training is required within 90 days (even for those who may have prior service).  A quarterly orientation brief is provided by the Naval Academy’s Deputy Staff Judge Advocate. You will be contacted about the date and time of this mandatory briefing.

Job Training
