The Human Resources Office does not handle the processing of benefits information. The Department of Navy has set up the Civilian Benefits Center and representatives are available to assist you in making benefits selections as well as assist you with any specific questions you may have about your benefits. You can reach the benefits line at 1-888-320-2917.

Information on all Federal benefits can be found at http://www.public.navy.mil/donhr/Benefits/.

What changes can you make during the Benefits Open Season?

  • Federal Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS)
    Enroll in a FASAFEDS - a health care and/or dependent care account.  Unlike with other programs, employees MUST reenroll in FSAFEDS each year to participate. Enrollments DO NOT carry over from year to year.
  • Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP)
    Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a dental and/or vision plan under the FEDVIP Program.
  • Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Program
    Enroll in, change, or cancel an existing enrollment in a health plan under the FEHB Program.

  • Basic coverage is automatic; you have 60 days to elect optional coverage.
  • Proof of insurability may be required for insurance changes after that time.
  • There is no regularly scheduled Open Season.
