The Naval History Symposium is fortunate to have received generous financial assistance from the McMullen Seapower fund. This support will enable us during the 2007 Symposium to provide
- the McMullen Seapower Keynote Speeches.
- cash prizes to the authors of the top three conference papers as a reward for their scholarship.
- ten McMullen Seapower Grants for Young Naval Historians to encourage graduate and undergraduate students in the pursuit of research projects related to naval and maritime history; each grant is worth $1,000.
- fifteen travel grants for $500 each for scholars living outside the U.S. and graduate students, wherever they reside.
As a matter of policy, we normally encourage applicants for the McMullen Seapower Grant for Young Naval Historians to be associated with the symposium either as a presenter of a paper this year or as a presenter of a paper at the next symposium.
If you are interested in applying for a McMullen Seapower Grant for Young Naval Historians or a travel grant, please indicate this in your conference paper proposal or contact the Symposium organizers at yu@usna.edu.
APPLICATIONS FOR THIS YEAR ARE CLOSED. Look for
announcement next fall for Naval History Symposium 2009.
