Stephan Koev

Born in 1981, I grew up in Pazardjik, Bulgaria. Bulgaria is located in Eastern Europe, North of Greece and Turkey, and is a former communist block country. I went to a foreign language secondary school, where I learned English (a choice largely influenced by my parents). Then I decided I wanted to study in the US because it has the best higher education institutions in the world.  I applied to Naval Academy and was miraculously accepted. I had not done military service before, unlike most of the other foreign kids at the Academy.
