The Captain Joy Bright Hancock Organization (JBHO) is a professional organization at the United States Naval Academy which is open to all midshipmen.

Annual Luncheon (previously known as the “Relationships Luncheon”):

“Taking Command of Your Career: Navigating the Personal and Professional Waters.”  April 17th, 1200-1320

Bo Coppedge Room Alumni Hall

With the support of Captain Margaret Klein, Commandant of Midshipmen, this event will provide midshipmen an opportunity to examine the intersections of their personal and professional aspirations with input from seasoned women in uniform.  This event will feature a keynote speaker yet to be named.

 

“Letters to Myself”

Letter Reading: April 28th, 1200-1320

Luce Planetarium

 

Letter Writing Workshops:  April 14th, 1900

Hart Room in Sampson Hall

The aim of this venture is to get 1st Class female midshipmen to reflect on their time at the Naval Academy and share those experiences with underclassmen before joining the fleet.  Designed to be a culminating event, the letter reading will be held on the last day of classes, during lunch and is open to all midshipmen and faculty.

Women of the Class of 2008 are invited to attend one or both of the two workshops to see old letters and get help writing their own.  Those that wish to read their letters at the April 28thevent will need to submit their letters NLT April 25th to Ensign Mel Parrish, ofc75136@usna.edu.
