POSITION DESCRIPTION


 The Languages and Cultures Department of the United States Naval Academy invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Chinese position, to begin August 2014. Appointments at all ranks will be considered, but the preference is for junior faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor.  The area of research specialization is open, but applicants must demonstrate strong research potential as well as effective teaching. 


MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Chinese, native or near-native fluency, and a strong commitment to teaching all levels of undergraduate courses in language and culture.

U.S. citizenship required.
