POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Center for Academic Excellence at the
United States Naval Academy located in Annapolis, MD has a part-time
opening for a mathematics instructor/tutor for days and/or evenings. As
a member of this academic support unit, the incumbent will provide
assistance in a small group setting of 3-15 students; reinforce topics
covered in the departmental mathematics course as well as reinforce
study skills and work habits conducive to mathematics development. The
successful candidate will maintain appropriate student records, submit
reports and data as requested, attend meetings and complete training
sessions as required.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's or doctoral degree in mathematics, mathematics education or a
related field from an accredited institution is required.
Must be able to work with the different levels of Calculus.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Must be able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and
student body.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
