About the
Job: This part-time position is located at
the Naval Health Clinic Annapolis, Annapolis, Maryland. All medical care is
administered in compliance with state and federal regulations and meets
professional standards, including Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED policies,
and the requirements of designated regulatory agencies. All providers are
directly responsible to the Department Head, via the Clinic Manager. The
incumbent is responsible for performing physical examinations for Tricare
beneficiaries and eligible Civil Service and Contractual employees. Also serves
as a consultant and advisor to Advanced Practice Nurses, Independent Duty
Corpsman, and Physician Assistants. Incumbent supports healthcare programs as
directed by the Commanding Officer and/or command mission. Incumbent may be
assigned collateral duties that include command committees and conferences.
Participates and supports the Process Improvement Program. Monitors metrics to
evaluate and continuously improve the effectiveness of identified programs. At
time may be required to act as the Department Head. This includes supervising
the day-to-day operations of the Primary Care Clinic Staff.
This position has a basic requirement of a degree: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor
of Osteopathy from a school in the United States or Canada approved by a
recognized accrediting body in the year of the applicant's graduation. [A Doctor
of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school that provided
education and medical knowledge substantially equivalent to accredited schools
in the United States may be demonstrated by permanent certification by the
Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) (or a fifth pathway
certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United
States and graduate education in a foreign country).]
In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified candidates will
demonstrate one year of quality level experience equivalent to the next lower
band working as a Physician in Internal Medicine.
