Duties: The incumbent is the Scheduling Officer for
the Commandant of Midshipmen. The Scheduling
Officer is the primary point of contact for all non-academic scheduled events.
In conjunction with the Superintendent and Commandant of Midshipmen develops a
five-year master schedule for the U.S. Naval Academy. The master schedule is the
product of detailed interaction with the Academic Dean, Department Directors,
the Planning Board for Scheduling and Training (PBS&T), and the Naval Academy
Athletic Association (NAAA). Based upon their input and through the
interpretation of USNA guidance and procedures, develop the daily, weekly,
monthly, annual and five-year master schedule for the Brigade of Midshipmen.
Plan, develop and implement the Plan of the Day, Weekly plan, Tri-weekly plan,
Annual and Five-year master plan. Constantly monitor the schedule and liaison
with responsible personnel. Review all incoming proposals for events involving
the Brigade of Midshipmen. Approve and/or reject presented functions/events.
Instruct and advise daily the Brigade of Midshipmen, officers and senior
enlisted faculty and staff, and others on and off the Yard. Schedule over 12,000
events and midshipmen activities a year. Plan, develop and implement a detailed
candidate visit plan that is promulgated as a Commandant Midshipmen Notice and
comprehensive five-day schedule of events for the 350 NAPS candidates.
Representative for USNA blood drives, approximately 10 a year, with over 1,000
donors participating. In concert with the Commandant's Training Officer and
Logistics Officer develop a training schedule for the Brigade of Midshipmen. As
member of the Planning Board for Scheduling and Training (PAS&T), comprised of
the Department chairs and the Deputy Commandant, provides authoritative advice
to the group on matters regarding the scheduling of midshipmen time within
predetermined policy and guidance, ensuring there are no conflicts of
restrictions. Responsible for the planning and developing of the USNA
Instruction and scheduling for three major training program periods. Oversee and
participate in the instruction and scheduling of all events for the ten days
prior to and including graduation day. Develop the First Class Parents' Weekend
instruction and schedule of events. Guide the Plebe Summer scheduler as he or
she develops the Plebe Summer schedule of over 3,500 events. Maintain the USNA
