Lieutenant Bridget Seymour was born on 28 October 1981 in Akron, Ohio. She began her military career at the United States Naval Academy as a Midshipman. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Ocean Engineering and was selected for the Naval Aviator program in May of 2004. Upon graduation, she was stationed at NAS Pensacola and served as an assistant in its Natural Resources Division.
Ensign Seymour completed Aviation Preflight Indoctrination training in March of 2005. She then reported to Primary Flight Training VT-28 followed by Advanced Flight Training with VT-35 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was designated a Naval Aviator in May 2006 and reported to Patrol Squadron THIRTY (VP-30) at NAS Jacksonville for initial flight training in the P-3C Orion.
LTJG Seymour reported to Patrol Squadron EIGHT at NAS Brunswick in April 2007 where she held several jobs including Maintenance Department Quality Assurance Officer, Pilot Tactics Officer, Assistant Command Services Officer, First Lieutenant Division Officer, PATRON Sigonella Administrative Officer, Aircrew Ground Training Officer, Educational Services Officer and Mentorship Coordinator. Lieutenant Seymour was designated Patrol Plane Commander in January 2009. Shortly thereafter, she was also designated as Special Missions Aircraft Commander, Functional Check Flight Pilot, Instrument Check Pilot, Mission Commander and Instructor Pilot.
LT Seymour has completed a combat deployment to CENTCOM in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM, a detachment to SEVENTH FLEET AOR and a surge to SIXTH FLEET AOR in support of Operation ACTIVE ENDEAVOR and various other NATO Operations and multinational exercises.
LT Seymour is now serving as a Leadership Instructor in the Leadership, Ethics and Law Department at the United States Naval Academy. She is also the 2012 USNA Leadership Conference Coordinator and the Navy Women's Rugby Officer Representative.
Her awards include an Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (two awards) and other various unit awards.
