A native of Orlando, Florida LT Point holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Jacksonville University class of 2007.

Upon graduation from Jacksonville University, NROTC LT Point’s initial sea tour was onboard USS TORTUGA (LSD 46) home ported out of Sasebo, Japan. LT Point served as ship’s electrical officer deploying in support of the 31st MEU out of Okinawa; Talisman Saber 2007, a bilateral exercise in planning and joint operations in order to improve US/Australian joint combat readiness, IWO Jima memorial operations 2008 as well as CARAT 2008 a multinational deployment promoting corporation, readiness and training efforts across southeast Asian naval powers.

Following transfer from USS TORTUGA in May 2009 and completion of training in July 2009 LT Point reported aboard then PCU JASON DUNHAM built in Bath, Maine as ship’s Damage Control Assistant. Upon completion of the ship building process JASON DUNHAM official entered the fleet on November 13th 2010 at the commissioning ceremony held in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Upon transfer from USS JASON DUNHAM in September 2011, LT Point had a brief three month stop in Millington, TN at bureau of Naval Personnel before reporting to his current assignment at the United States Naval Academy where he currently teaches NL 310 to 2nd Class Midshipmen.

LT Point is married to the former Ms. Kelly Gibson of Chestertown, Maryland they have three children, David, Alexandra, and Jackson.
