A division of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the NCBI was established in 1988 as a national resource for molecular biology information. PubMed is among the array of databases and software available at this site. |

PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, includes over 14 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's. These citations are from MEDLINE and additional life science journals. PubMed includes links to many sites providing full text articles and other related resources, including PubMed Central, the National Library of Medicine's free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature. |
