HISTORICAL NEWSPAPERS

Newspaper and periodical articles from the time period of an event are often considered primary sources because they were written close to the actual event. Nimitz Library has many early periodicals and newspapers, some online and some on microfilm.

Colonial American Newspaper Collection on Microfilm

There is a microfilm newspaper collection called Birth of America: The Year in Review, 1763-1783This is a chronological guide and index to the colonial press and contains 2 newspapers per colony.  The printed index guide and the 16 reels of microfilm are under call number E187.B5
