A multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It completely indexes more than 1,725 journals spanning 50 disciplines. SSCI selectively indexes articles from an additional 3,300 journals. |

The Naval Academy is a member of the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) Center. This online resource is a collection of statistical data sets that can be used for a variety of social and political science research areas. The system replaces, and enhances, a series of ICPSR books in our collection. It is recommended that new users access the "Thematic categories" file as the primary step to understanding the arrangement of materials in this file. Founded in 1947, the Roper Center at the University of Connecticut is the largest archive of public opinion data in existence. iPOLL is the only comprehensive database that provides access to these data. To access the database, click on the iPOLL icon at the top/center of the home page. The user is then presented with a brief registration page and will need to agree to user terms - all this happens the first time a user logs in to iPOLL. Each time thereafter, the user only needs to enter his or her email address. |
| Jane's Online |
Jane's Publishing is one of the foremost publishers of military information. Jane's online includes all of the Jane's print materials we get in the Nimitz Library such as Jane's Fighting Ships and Jane's Defense Weekly, but also includes many additional publications previously unavailable at USNA. Jane's Online is very useful for tracking military topics such as new aircraft and new ships, developments in foreign Orders-of-Battle, country studies and terrorism. Jane's online is also extremely useful in researching industry developments in transportation (air, land and sea) and defense markets. Select More Information for tips in using Jane's Online. |

FBIS Online contains materials published from April 1995-present and is updated continuously with reports available for searching within 30-60 minutes of being filed. Password required. USNA personnel needing access must register and apply for their own password. |
