Navy Sinks Princeton

Navy's lightweights took three out of four races against Princeton this past Saturday, including a six-second win the varsity race. Conditions on the Severn were beautiful for this early-season rivalry.

The varsity race saw Navy beating the pre-season number one ranked team in Princeton. Navy got out to a slight lead off the start and continued to move slowly throughout the race for a six-second win.

Princeton's 2nd Varsity got the best of the Midshipmen in a very similar race, winning by 4.5 seconds. The 3rd varsity race saw both Navy's 3V and 4V beat Princeton. All three boats were very close in the first 1000 meters until Navy's 3V slowly opened up to a 10.5 second margin on Princeton.

The Freshmen race also saw Navy get out to a slight lead eventually winning by 7.5 seconds. No times were taken for this race.

Next up for the Midshipmen is Yale. They will be racing on neutral ground at Mercer County Park, NJ, where they will inaugurate the Eads Johnson Jr. Cup.
