Navy's Vuillet Makes U.S. National Team

Recent graduate, ENS William Vuillet, was invited to the Under-23 National Team camp to try out for the U.S. Lightweight Straight Four. After one month of selection, Vuillet has earned a spot in the boat which will compete at the Under-23 World Championships in Amsterdam in late July. Vuillet was a member of Navy's 2004 National Championship crew and is a recently commissioned Ensign awaiting his flight school date in November. As the bow seat of the U.S. National Team Lightweight 4-, ENS William Vuillet placed second in the petite final (8th overall) in the Under-23 World Championships in Amsterdam. In the semi-final, the US Lightweight Four was in second place for most of the race until they were sprinted through, knocking them out of the grand final. Vuillet follows a long line of Navy oarsmen to race with the National Team.
