HELM Committee

The Healthy Eating and Living for Midshipmen (HELM) Committee is a midshipman led committee working in conjunction with the Midshipmen Development Center to encourage healthy eating and living habits among the Brigade. Its mission is to promote and improve the overall health and wellness of the Brigade of Midshipmen through ongoing outreach, education and prevention efforts, especially with regard to disordered eating and the prevention of eating disorders. To that end, the HELM Committee helps to develop monthly programs to address the interests of the Brigade with respect to healthy eating. The HELM Committee chairperson acts as a midshipmen representative on the USNA Eating Disorders Prevention Team and HELM Committee members have the opportunity to work in conjunction with their Battalion’s 2/c Sergeant Majors to provide midshipmen input to King Hall. The HELM Committee members are instrumental in planning outreach, prevention and educational programs for midshipmen during National Eating Disorders Awareness Week as well as throughout the year.

If you are interested in becoming a part of the HELM Committee, contact the MDC at x3-4897.
