MWR Annapolis Carr Creek Marina offers Kayak Instructions and Tours by certified American Canoe Association instructors.
SMART START PADDLER ORIENTATION, a short (about 1 hour) course that can be completed either on or off water and is a prerequisite for renting MWR kayaks. This course is $18.00 per person and will be held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1000. QUICKSTART YOUR KAYAK is a 3-hour introductory course designed for the new paddler with the first hour incorporated with the Smart Start class, and can be taken in all type of kayaks: sit-on-top, recreation, and touring. Course fee is $55.00 per person for a single kayak and $49.00 per person for a double kayak. Both prices include kayak rental. The class will be held Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1000.  KAYAK TOURING is 4-hour class designed to build on the Quick Start class.   This course is designed for the paddler who wants to learn self and assisted rescues, and paddling safely in a group. The cost is $65.00 per person for a single kayak and $59.00 per person for a double, kayak rental is included.  In addition, MWR is also offering SUNRISE &/or SUNSET TOURS.  Sunrise or Sunset tours are short (about 2 hours) guided tours designed for the paddler who is not quite ready to head out on their own. Tours include a basic introduction to paddle strokes and boat handling.  The tour cost is $25.00 per person plus kayak rental.
