Special Notices:

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO RENT A SAILBOAT
You must have a minimum of a USNSA Keelboat "B" Skipper Qualification or its equivalent
from other recognized sailing schools (ASA / US Sailing) supported by documentation.

AND

• At least one crew member, minimum age of 16
• Must be an authorized MWR patron.
   

KAYAK INSTRUCTIONS

          The  Marina will also offer Kayak Instructions and Tours with certified American Canoe Association Instructors.  Instructions vary from a 1-hour orientation to a 4-hour Touring class. BASIC KEELBOAT SAILING COURSE
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

Weekend basic keelboat sailing courses for the 2013 season begin on May 17 and will run on weekends through September 1, 2013.   Weekend sessions are held Friday evening  from 6 to 9 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Successful completion earns a "B" qualification card. Lessons cost $220/person and must be booked by reservation. Because of their popularity, a waiting list is maintained throughout the year.   This course is available to authorized MWR customers, ages 16 or older.   The cost includes course materials.

UPGRADE AND REFRESHER SAILING LESSONS!! 

The Marina offers two options for customers who took sailing lessons and  either received a "Mate A" qualification or those who received a "Skipper B" qualification but have not sailed since they passed the course.  Those who didn't qualify would 'upgrade' and those who qualified but haven't sailed would be able to refresh their skills.  A 4-hour (half-day) course is offered by appointment on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays subject to the availability of an instructor when the Marina does not have people enrolled in weekday sailing classes.  A minimum of two people are needed for upgrade or refresher lessons.  Cost is $65 for the half-day course (a deal since renting a boat for 4 hours is $68 - plus you get an experienced instructor!).  If interested, call Carr Creek Marina at 410-293-3731 or 2058 to arrange an appointment.
