The MWR
Recreational Services Bldg. #89 is located at 89 Bennion Road, NSA Annapolis and
includes a gym, weight and cardiovascular rooms and racquetball courts,
recreational equipment in the lobby (pool / ping pong and large-screen TV), an
intramural sports program and the Liberty Zone (below). Fitness equipment
includes Life Fitness treadmills, cross-trainers, recumbent bikes, upright
bikes, stair-masters, Hammer Strength equipment and an FM wireless fitness
cinema. The fitness center has men’s and women’s showers with day lockers, a
co-ed sauna, free towel checkout, racquetball gear, weight belts, basketballs
and other equipment checkout.
FREE use of the Fitness Center for DoD Civilians (active and retired with proof of retirement) and their family members throughout Naval District Washington fitness facilities went into effect on November 1, 2006. (Family members are defined as spouse and children; adult age children with valid student ID). DoD civilians may bring their family members to the MWR Recreational Services Bldg. #89, NSA Annapolis to obtain a fitness center access card.
Active duty, reservists, retired military and their families, continue to have free access to the Fitness Center. Full-time USNA Contractors may pay a membership fee of $300 per year, $44 per month or $11 per day. Guests of active duty, retired military, reservists, or DoD civilians are $5/day or $11 for Contractors. For more information, call 410-293-9200 or 9211.
No youths under
the age of 10 are permitted in any area of the Fitness center. Youth ages 10
through 14 are authorized access to the Fitness Center under the following
guidelines: Youth in the approved age range must be accompanied at all times in
all areas of the fitness center by a parent or a legal guardian.
Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and
Saturday, Sunday and federal holidays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Liberty Zone - 410-293-9214
The
"Liberty Zone," the recreation center for single and unaccompanied E1-E6
active duty personnel, is located on the lower level of the Recreational
Services Bldg. #89 at Naval Support Activity Annapolis. The center
features a surround-sound theater, computers, video games, card tournaments,
TV / lounging area, self-serve snack bar and tables, kitchen facilities,
pool tables, air hockey, foosball, and pay telephone lounge areas. Special
events and trips are scheduled throughout each month.

Intramural leagues, including
flag football, softball, soccer, co-ed volleyball and basketball are offered
in the Recreational Services Bldg. #89, as well as personal trainer services
and special events.
MWR-Blue Jacket Cafe (formerly NSAA Galley) - 410-293-9120 (Menu Recording)
The Blue Jacket Cafe offers
menu choices and carry-out service as well as a high-end coffee bar / deli area
open throughout the day. The Blue Jacket Cafe offers catering services for a
variety of functions and events.
The MWR-Blue Jacket Café is open Monday through
Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
On
weekends and federal holidays, the MWR-Blue Jacket Cafe is only open for brunch
(10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) and dinner. The cost for brunch is $5.95 per person.
During the weekdays, customers
can get fresh brewed gourmet coffee, specialty coffees, BJC Original Blend
coffee, muffins and bagels and take advantage of breakfast sandwiches, deli
subs, salads, smoothies, hand-made desserts and pastries from 8 a.m. until 4
p.m. from the Coffee Cafe.

Purchase a coffee mug for $7.50 and receive refills
of coffee for $.50 each when you bring the purchased mug back to the Blue Jacket
Cafe.

Massage Therapy - 410-293-9200
Massage therapy is available by prior appointment. MWR has a terrific massage therapist (Sharon) who specializes in soft tissue release, Swedish relaxation, deep tissue, prenatal, and myofacial release. The MWR Massage Studio is located in Metzger Hall, Bldg. #168 at Naval Support Activity Annapolis. Customers must pay for their appointments at the MWR Recreational Services Bldg. #89, NSA Annapolis. Cost is $40 for a ˝ hour session; $60 for one hour. Gift certificates are available. For an appointment, call Sharon at 410-279-2070.

MWR rents
10' x 10' canopies, 5-foot
charcoal grills, propane heater/cooker, folding picnic tables with umbrellas, four and six-man tents, sleeping bags, camp cots, air mats, camp
chairs, ice chests, propane lanterns, flashlight lanterns, two-burner stoves, on a daily basis, for the
weekend or weekly to help you experience the great outdoors.
MWR
also rents mountain bikes, bike helmets and sports equipment such as softball
kits, badminton and croquets sets, basketballs, volleyballs and horseshoes.
MWR also rents inflatable moon bounce, Jump/Slide Combo, Basketball Shooter,
Obstacle Course.
Camping, party and sports equipment can be checked out during Hours of Operation below.

Outdoor Swimming

One outdoor swimming pools,
the South Severn Pool (across from USNA Gate 8) is open during summer months. Swim lessons are available in two-week
sessions. Family and single memberships are available at the pools or
Recreational Services Bldg. #89 and keep costs low for frequent swimming /
sunbathing.
Auto Skills Shop - 410-293-3859
The Auto Skills Shop is fully-equipped,
self-service repair facility located across from the Small Craft Facility
on Naval Support Activity Annapolis. The shop offers eight bays (four
with hydraulic lifts), and a variety of tools and equipment including a
Diagnostic Scanner, All-Data Computer Program, tire mounter, timing light,
electric drill, wash tank, grease tank, brake lathe, hoists, engine stands,
Snap-On tools, tire balancer, puller set and professional guidance.

Marina
Located at the east end of Naval Support Activity Annapolis on the mouth of the Severn River, the Marina offers a wide variety of recreational boating options at affordable prices. Moorings are available for boats while dry storage facilities can accommodate boats, RV's and pop-up campers (no automobiles). Haul-out, wash and launch are available by appointment, Monday through Friday. ![]() |
![]() The Marina also rents power boats, sailboats and canoes. The sailing fleet includes a Hunter 22, 22-foot Capris, 24-foot Rainbows and a 25' Catalina. Rental power boats include 15 and 17-foot Whalers. Weekend sessions are held Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Successful completion earns a "B" qualification card. Lessons cost $220/person and must be booked by reservation. Because of their popularity, a waiting list is maintained throughout the year. This course is available to authorized MWR customers, ages 16 or older. The cost includes course materials. Click here for application. Kayak lessons, tours, and rentals. The Marina offers the Smart Start Paddler Orientation. This 1 hour course will be offered Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1000. The course fee is $18.00 and is required to rent a kayak or canoe. Quickstart Your Kayak is a 3-hour introductory course that is also be offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 1000. It will incorporate the Smart Start class and basic maneuvers as well as safety issues. The next class in the series is Kayak Touring. This is a 4-hour class designed to build on the skills learned in the Quick Start class. The marina will also offer 2 hour guided Sunrise and Sunset Tours. Kayak and Canoe rentals are available Wednesday thru Sunday May 17 to September 1. Carr Creek Marina also rents 32 slips with water and electricity hookups on an annual contract basis at CDR John L. Dunning, Jr. Memorial Pier at Mill Creek (off Greenbury Point). Applications are filed on a status group priority basis. Slips vary in size and can accommodate boats up to 40'. Click here for application. School Liaison Officer - 410-293-2641
Accredited by NAEYC
(National Association for the Education of Young Children), the Child
Development Center, at Gage Road in the North Severn housing community, Naval
Support Activity Annapolis. All active duty, active reservists, DoD civilian employees
and DoD full-time contractors can use the facility. It offers developmental
programs for children 6 weeks old to 5 years of age. The center provides
hot and cold United States Department of Agriculture approved breakfasts
and lunches, as well as afternoon snacks. Meal prices are based income
eligibility. It also offers a pre-school program. In addition,
there is the Child Development Homes Program, which trains, certifies and
monitors caregivers in base housing and off-base throughout the U.S. Naval
Academy Complex.
The School Liaison Officer provides transitional support to
DoD-eligible families with school-age children. The position is located at
the Fleet and Family Support Center, NSA Annapolis (410-293-2641).
Youth Programs - 410-293-4997 / 4998
The "Billy the Kid" Youth
Center, at Alder Road, Naval Support Activity Annapolis, provides a wide
range of recreational, social and educational activities for children from
5 years old (and in kindergarten) to 18. Programs include School-Age
Care, leisure skills development classes, special themed events and field
trips to area attractions. There is a Summer Day camp for children
entering first grade through 12 years old. Membership
for the Youth Center is free and includes all open recreation activities
(membership forms are at Youth Center). There is a small fee for
special events, snacks and trips. The Youth Center at Clipper
is open Monday through Friday from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. for middle school
and high school kids with a YC membership to use the computers with internet
connection, TV/VCR, and Game Cube. Youth sports programs include
T-ball and soccer and promote fun and sportsmanship.
