Team History

Prior to fall 2003, the initial concept of the USNA Marathon Team was attributed to the works of several midshipmen, who ran marathons on their own. Due to their performance and interest, Midshipman James Cathro put together the first group of midshipmen to form the fall 2003 USNA Marathon Team. The team was initially categorized as an intramural sport, but in 2005, the Commandant of Midshipmen, Captain Charles J. Leidig granted club status to the team.
