The Belle's Stratagem is an 18th Century romantic comedy about London's most beautiful socialites. When Letitia Hardy's fiancé returns to England from his pleasure-seeking tour of Italy, France, and Spain, he proclaims his future wife dull in contrast to the women he met abroad. Letitia plots to win her lover back by turning his indifference into dislike, and then wooing him in disguise.
