1)In the file menu on the right side bar select the "Site" tab. In the "Site" pulldown menu select "New Site".
2) When prompted, enter a name for you site, then click next.
3) In the next window, select "No, I do not want to use a server technology." Click next.
4) In the next window, select "Edit local copies on my machine, then upload to server when ready". You will be asked to enter a directory for the local files to be stored. Dreamweaver automatically creates a directory for you with the same name as the site you created. Click Next.
4)On the next window enter the information as seen below:
- Select "FTP" as the method to connect to your remote server
- Enter "www.usna.edu" as the FTP address of your server
- Enter the directory on the server to which you want to transfer your files.
- Enter your login information.
Click Test connection you check that you entered all the information correctly and that you are able to connect to the server. If you are successful click Next.
5) On the next window check "No, do not enable check in and check out." and click Next.
6) In the next window check to make sure all information is correct and then click Done.
