  • What is HTML ?

HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) is the language used to create pages for the World Wide Web. This lanquage is used to insert text, graphics, sounds, and/or links to other documents into your own documents.

Your pages or documents, will be interpreted by a "browser", such as Lynx, Netscape, MS Internet Explorer, etc. These "browsers" will render your creation for others to see and use. Please note that not all "browsers" are the same. Lynx is text-based only : no graphics, font-size changes, etc. Others will attempt to interpret page and text colors, different fonts, graphics, sounds, animations, etc. Some HTML codes are considered standard while others are not standard and can only be interpreted by a specific vendor's browser.
