EIVA EAST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION PROCESS
In order for a team to qualify for the end of the year EIVA East Coast Championship tournament, the following requirements must be met:
1.Completion of ALL divisional play requirements: Each team must play every other team in its division TWICE throughout the year in best of 3 or best of 5 matches. These matches must be approved and monitored by the appropriate Divisional Representative.
Results of divisional play MUST be submitted to and collected by the appropriate Divisional Representative.
2. Results must be in the proper format.
3. In late March, the EIVA Commissioner and/or Divisional Representatives will announce the teams that qualify for the EIVA Championships. The top FOUR teams in each division (North, Central, South) will qualify, resulting in a 12 team tournament for Division I and a 12 team tournament for Division II. Qualification is based on:
-The top three (3) teams based on regular season divisional results will receive bids to the EIVA Championship
-The final and fourth team will be the highest placing team at the Divisional Championships that has not already qualified (above). Note this is the only way for a team to qualify for the EIVA championships that has not met the Divisional Play requirements above
-The number one seed from the Division for the EIVA Championship will be the winner of the Divisional Championships
4. If two or more teams are tied (have identical match records/winning percentages), the following process will be used to determine final standings:
I. Head to head match record between tied teams
II. Head to head game record between tied teams
III. Point differential of the matches between tied teams
IV. Point differential of total divisional competition
V. Coin flip
