The Socratic Society seeks to offer an additional venue for discussion and debate of the philosophical and moral questions raised in the various courses taught by the Leadership, Ethics, and Law Department at USNA. Typically, these discussions are led by faculty members from the academic departments and provide an informal venue for debate and discussion of philosophical ideas and issues which will further equip Midshipmen to grow as rational decision-makers who effectively and authentically serve and lead with character, competence, and compassion- both here at USNA, as well as their Sailors and Marines in the USN and USMC, their families, and others within their spheres of influence.
