Visiting USNA |
Tours - Your USNA-NESA Midshipmen like all Eagle Scouts are strongly motivated towards all of the points of the Scout Law but most especially Helpful, Courteous, and Cheerful. That having been said, they are also Midshipmen of your U.S. Navy and as such are also Obedient! During weekdays, their first obligation must be to their military duties and academic classes and so they are not available to facilitate tours of our Academy, even for their own "Home" troops. Please do not ask? On the other hand, if your troop is coming to Annapolis on the weekend and would like a midshipman Eagle Scout to give you a tour of the yard, please contact our tour coordinator, MIDN 3/C Ian Sonnenberg. We do our best to accommodate ALL requests except during scheduled USNA Leave Periods. Especially the summer months, our midshipmen are out at sea with the fleet learning the necessary skills to "Protect and Serve" and so can't be here to welcome you. In those cases, tours of the yard are still available through the USNA Visitors Center. Camping - There are no camping facilities at USNA for troops, however, there are a number of camping facilities in the Annapolis area including:
