WHEN: 27-31 March 2013
WHAT: Conference with NSBE chapters from across the country. Socialize and innovate with like-minded students and business executives who have all contributed to - and benefited from - all that NSBE has to offer. Represent the Navy at a series of interesting and thought-provoking events.
WHERE: Indianapolis, Indiana
WHEN: Saturday 6 April
WHAT: The goal of A Walk for Education (AWFE) is "to increase awareness of the opportunities available through education particularly in the STEM fields and to shatter myths about African-Americans in math, science, engineering and other technologies." AWFE is a grassroots program in which NSBE members go door to door in local Annapolis communities and hand out information on college, scholarship information, SAT/ACT preparation tools, NSBE and share information on the benefits of majoring in STEM fields.
WHERE: Annapolis, Maryland
WHAT: The chapter meets periodically throughout the year in order to discuss recent successes and prepare for upcoming events. Typically, our meetings are combined with the efforts of the Midshipman Black Studies Club and grow from a simple meeting to a community social.
WHAT: Both our Academic and Physical missions officers have developed a framework to ensure that our members will succeed in every aspect of the Midshipmen lifestyle. In response to difficult courses, tutoring sessions are available. In response to physical shortcomings, challenging exercise sessions are coordinated weekly.
