KINGSTON, RI (Friday, November 10, 2006) -- Rhode Island scored a pair of 
third period goals to break open a close game and went on to defeat Navy's 
hockey team, 4-1, Friday night at the Brad Boss Arena in Kingston, RI.

With the loss, the Midshipmen fell to 7-3-1 on the season and 6-1-1- in the 
Eastern Collegiate Hockey Association (ECHA), while the Rams improved to 
12-2-0 overall and 11-0-0 in the ECHA.

After a scoreless first period, Rhode Island took 1-0 lead on a James 
Gaffney even strength goal at 2:18 of the second stanza.  Navy knotted the 
score at 1-1 when Kevin Krmpotich broke in on Ram goaltender Anthony Feyock 
and got off a shot that Feyock stopped. But Krmpotich picked up his own 
rebound and slid it under Feyock at 8:39, the lone assist going to Joe 
Liles.

Rhode Island regained its one goal advantage later in the period thanks to a 
Ben Herring breakaway goal at 14:04 to put the Rams up, 2-1.

In the third period, the Rams put the game out of reach with a Mike Curran 
even strength goal at the 1:08 mark, followed by a Matt Loftus power play 
tally at 16:09.

Navy netminder Eric Anderson finished with 21 saves, while Feyock recorded 
22 stops.

The same two teams meet Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Brad Boss Arena.
