LT Mitch Eliason grew up in the Philadelphia, PA area and graduated from the US Naval Academy with the Class of 2003.  As a midshipman, LT Eliason was a member of the varsity baseball team, earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and minor in the Spanish Language.  After graduation he studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain for a month prior to completing the Navy’s Nuclear Power School and Prototype training.  In 2005 he graduated from the Submarine Officer Basic Course and transferred to the USS LOS ANGELES (SSN-688) out of Pearl Harbor, HI. 

 

While on the LOS ANGELES, he served as a division officer for various engineering divisions, completed two Western Pacific deployments, and conducted Dry Deck Shelter operations with Navy SEALs and Divers.  During his sea tour, LT Eliason married his long time best friend, the former Jenny Rebecca Rieger.  In December of 2007, he transferred to the US Naval Academy to teach in the Leadership, Ethics, and Law Department.
