Training & Selection
Blue Bar

Training and Selection for character representatives is dependent on both a good record at the Academy as well as good standing among peers. A general guideline for selection follows, but there can always be exceptions if approved by the chain of command:

-Qualities consistent with pro-active leadership

-Approachability regarding peers and subordinates

-Strong participation in company or Naval Academy activities

-Trustworthiness

-Maturity of thought and communication

-2.5 SQPR

-B in Conduct

-B or improving in Aptitude

-B or improving in the PRT

Each class in company selects a class representative in the fall and sends the name to the company commander for approval.  After selection, SAVIs, ADEOs, CMEOs, and 1/C Character Representatives are given separate training and tasks on how to promote character and their own program, and also what do if someone needs help.  Each of the character reps should make it known throughout their respective companies how to contact them to get the help or seek the advice they need.
