BWI Gateway Makes Space-A Travel Easy

May 10, 2012

Traveling on a space-available flight, better known as Space-A, is a unique privilege provided to service members, retirees and their families. Under the Space-A program, eligible passengers can fill unused seats on Department of Defense-owned or controlled aircrafts once all the space-required passengers and cargo have been accommodated.

The program can be favorable if a traveler's schedule is flexible and finances permit an overnight stay if space isn’t available on the desired day of travel. Some travelers fly the same day they sign up. Interested personnel can sign up for Space-A travel at the AMC terminal at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

For more information go to www.fcg.pentagon.mil (from a government computer only) or www.jointbasemdl.af.mil/bwipassengerterminal.asp or call 410-918-6932.
